I just have to tell you about a recent experience that happened that busted me up. In the studio came a blonde haired blue eyed little girl of seven with what looked like a head of beautiful blonde hair cropped with a lawnmower. Here bangs had been reduced to jagged little tufts of hair strewn over her forehead. The sides of her once long pretty hair had been whacked into what looked like a badly done mullet. On the crown of her head stood erect several tufts of hair pillowing out of her scalp as if an antenna reaching into outer space. I tried with a straight face to find out the unfortunate incident which had reduced this beautiful little girl to a very bad hair year when she stared up at me and smiled.

“I cut my hair to look like my Mommy’s.” She replied.

“Have you looked at it in the mirror yet, sweetie?” I asked her.

Confused, she tilted her head and shook no. I walked her over to the mirror and heard the first blood curdling screams that only a female in her first realization of a bad hair moment. She promised from then on not to cut her own hair, which just goes to show you never give a seven year old access to scissors!
